26

I am another year older today. According to one of my bus friends, 26 is the new 16. I'll take that. Overall, despite my usual birthday depression, it was a good day. My family and friends called. I got a card in the mail from my grandmother. I did my laundry and edited more photos, and my allergies finally started to weaken. Something just doesn't seem so appealing about being 26, but I don't think it is the 26 that matters, it is where I am in my life right now. I'm just feeling kind of stuck. I need to realize that I need to leave my troubles behind. It is time to recharge and restart and it is hard with this school stuff that has been weighing me down more and more each day. I am somebody, hear me roar! I just wish sometimes all of those people that make me feel like I am somebody were with me now when I need them to help me get through this obstacle of a shitty higher edication. No matter who you are, don't let anyone tell you that you are a failure, especially if it has to do with what you are best at. If you have a passion for something, make that passion be your world, don't let others make you feel that you are not passionate enough. If you believe in yourself, than that is what matters. With only two classes left, I am still in a rut with this mess. I want to be free of it. I want to feel better, and that is going to be my new goal. So Savannah College of Art and Design, this is to you. You made me feel so proud to be accepted, and so stupid to have accepted the acceptance. You have made me realize that there are teachers in this world that do not deserve to teach, that there are people in this world that do not deserve to be disappointed, and that getting a higher education actually means that I am getting a lower education. Yes, I am upset, but today is my birthday. I don't deserve to think about what has been bothering me for the many months I have been in Savannah. I deserve a piece of cake. It's almost like that one year everyone forgot and I nearly went out alone for cake. Almost. I am alone in this one. I am struggling and I want to be happy. I WANT TO BE HAPPY! Happy Birthday to me. Thank you for being there for me and thank you for putting up with me. I have accomplished so much in 26 years, and I am looking forward to seeing where I go from here. Good night... and thanks for letting me ramble. Thank you to all of those who remembered me today. It meant a lot.
